Former Foreign Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Hasan Mahmud was detained while attempting to flee the country through Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday (6 August).

The confirmation came from an official at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Previously, former State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, was also detained at the same airport while trying to escape to Delhi, India.

Among the high-profile ministers, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Law Minister Anisul Haque have not been heard from since Monday morning.

On Sunday, several members of the Awami League government, including Private Industry Advisor Salman F Rahman, Finance Minister Mahmud Ali, Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, and Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, also left the country by air. However, their destinations remain unknown.
