Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman will address the countrymen at 4pm on Monday (5 August).

Initially he was supposed to address at 2pm, but later it was delayed to 3pm and then 4pm.

"Until then, the public is requested to refrain from violence and be patient," said a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

His address comes as widespread unrest and violence amid protests and political rallies marring the country, which saw at least 98 people killed since Sunday (4 August).

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has announced its "March to Dhaka" programme for 5 August to realise their one-point demand - the resignation of the government.

Asif Mahmud, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, announced the programme on Sunday (4 August) afternoon.

Initially, the "March to Dhaka" was scheduled for Tuesday (6 August). However, the march was rescheduled for Monday considering the ongoing circumstances, said the organisers.

They made calls to students and people across the country to join the march to Dhaka.

Yesterday, amid escalating violence, the government imposed an indefinite curfew.
