Amid the nationwide unrest and protests, AL activists have been conducting stop-and-search operations on rickshaws and questioning passengers.

Pro-government rallies have been held throughout the city, accompanied by chants and slogans in support of the ruling party from Sunday (4 August).

The demonstration followed a call for civil disobedience issued by student leaders, who have urged citizens to participate in a general strike and boycott government services.

The city remains on high alert as both sides have vowed to continue their respective campaigns.

As the situation deteriorates, concerns are growing over the potential for further violence and disruption to daily life.
