RAB arrests 304 people nationwide on sabotage charges

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested 304 individuals across the country on charges of recent acts of sabotage.

This information was revealed in a text message sent by the RAB Media Cell today, Sunday.

According to the RAB's message, 77 individuals were arrested in Dhaka, while 227 were arrested outside the city.

In response to protests, clashes, conflicts, vandalism, and arson related to the movement demanding quota reform in government jobs, law enforcement agencies have been conducting nationwide arrest operations.

Students began a continuous series of programMEs demanding quota reform on 1 July. Following clashes surrounding the student protests at Dhaka University on 15 July, the demonstrations spread nationwide. Since then, incidents of attacks, clashes, violence, vandalism, arson, and injuries have occurred in various parts of the country, leading to numerous cases being filed.

A significant portion of those arrested so far are leaders and activists of the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, as well as their affiliated organiSations. Additionally, top leaders of various parties involved in simultaneous movements with the BNP are also being detained.
