Pop star Shafin Ahmed has passed away on Thursday (25 July) at a hospital in Verginea of US.

Musician's brother Hamin Ahmed confirmed the matter to the media.

Hamin Ahmed told the media, “Shafin had a massive heart attack. On July 20, he had a concert in Virginia. Shafin fell ill before the show and cancelled it. He was admitted to the hospital that day. Later, when his various organs failed, he was taken on life support. Ultimately, he has gone forever.”

Shafin Ahmed's mother is Nazrul Sangeet superstar Feroza Begum and father is composer Kamal Dasgupta.

In 1979, one of the most popular bands in Bangladesh, 'Miles', launched its journey. Soon after its launching, Shafin and Hamin joined and led the band. With the passage of time, they presented many popular songs of Bangladesh. He was the lead singer, songwriter and bassist for the Bangladeshi rock band Miles
