The rail communication between Dhaka and most parts of the country has been snapped after the protesters of quota reform movement blocked Mohakhali level crossing.
"The protesters blocked the rail lines halting railway operations from around 12:00 noon," said Dhaka Railway Police Station Kamalapur Officer-in-Charge, Ferdous Ahmed Biswas.
Protesters allegedly set fire on the rail line after a clash with the police and the activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League.
Mohakhali level crossing connects Dhaka with east, west and northern parts of the country.
