BGB issued a press statement about the deployment on Wednesday (17 July)

The government has deployed Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in many parts of the country amid the ongoing quota reform movement.

"Dhaka University area in the capital Dhaka along with Chattogram, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Bogura, Faridpur, and Cox's Bazar to maintain law and order situation," the BGB said in a press statement on Wednesday (17 July).

The elite security forces are deployed to bring the law-and-order situation under control amid many clashes erupting in the country over the quota reform movement.

At least 6 people have been killed across Bangladesh amid the ongoing movement on Tuesday (16 July).

Hundreds of students are reportedly injured as well.
