A fire that erupted this evening at the Finance Tower in the Purana Paltan area of the capital has been brought under control in less than an hour.
The blaze began at approximately 6:48pm, with five units from the Fire Service and Civil Defence arriving promptly and containing the fire by 7:26pm, according to Fire Service reports.
Smoke was observed billowing from the 15th floor of the 15-storey building.
The first Fire Service unit reached the scene at 6:58 pm.
The cause of the fire and any potential casualties have yet to be confirmed.
