Parasailing in Cox's Bazar has been halted temporarily due to safety concerns following several accidents involving untrained operators.

“We have suspended all parasailing activities to ensure the safety of our tourists. The operations will resume only after thorough safety evaluations and proper training of the operators,” said Md Masud Rana, executive magistrate (tourism cell) of Cox's Bazar district administration.

The decision follows recent parasailing accidents involving unskilled operators who failed to follow safety protocols.

A technical team, including experienced Air Force commando officers, Navy skilled trainers, and lifeguard trainers, will evaluate the equipment and overall safety measures.

"In the coming days, we will start month-long training sessions. Only those who pass the evaluation will be permitted to conduct parasailing," he said.

The administration's goal is to ensure that every tourist in Cox's Bazar can enjoy their visit safely, Masud said.
