Several parts of Dhaka city including Banglamotor, Kawran Bazar, Moghbazar, Hatirpul, Kathalbagan, and surrounding areas have been without electricity since noon.
Sources at the Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) said an underground cable was cut during the construction work of the elevated expressway in front of FDC around 12 noon on Wednesday, resulting in a power outage in the surrounding areas.
DPDC authorities said they are trying to provide electricity through alternative means.
