KNF member killed in Army raid: ISPR

A member of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) was killed during an operation led by Bangladesh Army at the hilly Munlai para in Ruma Upazila of Bandarban on Monday (22 April).

"One armed KNF terrorist was killed during a raid by the Bangladesh Army at Munlai Para of Lama,” said a press release issued by ISPR.

The army also recovered firearms and bullets from the scene.

On 16 April, law enforcers comprising Bangladesh Army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the police apprehended nine members KNF from Ruma. 

On 2 April, the Chattogram Hill Tracts-based KNF reportedly robbed money from Sonali Bank in Ruma Upazila, snatched arms and ammunition from Ansar members, and kidnapped the bank manager.

On 3 April,  robbers looted money from the Krishi and Sonali banks in Thanchi Upazila of the district.

In response to these incidents, law enforcement agencies, including the army, RAB, police, and BGB, launched a coordinated drive against the regional armed group in Bandarban.
