A 25-year-old Bangladeshi national was shot to death by the Border Security Force (BSF) of India at the border in Brahmanbaria on Monday morning.
Hasan Miah, hailing from Kaiyumpur union of Kasba, was shot by BSF members around 9am in Kollapathor Putia border area in Bayek union of the district, said Kasba Thana’s Officer-in-Charge Raju Ahmed.
He said, “We learned about the killing of a youth by BSF in the morning. But it could not be known immediately why he was shot.”
The body of the victim has been kept in Kasba Upazila Health Complex, he added.
Border Guard Bangladesh could not be reached for comment regarding the incident even after several phone calls.
