To prevent the outbreak of dengue everyone has to play their part, said Health Minister Samant Lal Sen.

“Everyone has a part to play in preventing dengue outbreaks, we must all play our parts and work together,” he said while talking to reporters in his office at the secretariat on Monday (15 April) afternoon.

“Doctors know well about dengue treatment. I also had a meeting about the saline crisis that has been thought about. There will be no shortage of saline. But we have to work to prevent an outbreak,” he added.

The minister said households should be kept clean to prevent Ades mosquitos from breeding.

When asked about the duties of doctors during the Eid holidays, the minister said, "We have tried our best during Eid. Even before becoming a minister, there was no Eid on which I did not go to the hospital. There is no Durga Puja holiday for me either. First, I went to the hospital, then I went to the festival.”

“I have made unannounced visits to hospitals on the eve of Eid. I went and found the doctors present. All senior and junior doctors were there,” he added.

The minister further said: “This time we have arranged food for the doctors and nurses who are working during Eid vacation with an administrative order from the ministry. When I was working in the rural areas, a girl worked without eating at night. All hotels and restaurants were closed. We have arranged for food because of that reason - so that they can have a good Eid.”
