A dentist who was beaten while trying to save his son has died in Chattogram.
The dentist, Korban Ali died at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital at around 5:30am on Wednesday (10 April), said his son Ali Reza.
He was severely injured after being attacked by a teen gang while trying to save his son Ali Reza.
The incident took place in the port city's Feroz Shah Colony on 5 April.
After being hit in the head, Korban Ali lost consciousness and was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital initially.
As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to an ICU.
The attackers were followers of former vice president of Chattogram University Chhatra League Golam Rasul Nishan, Ali Reza said.
He filed a case with the Akbar Shah Police Station on 7 April naming 12 suspects and other unidentified people.
Police arrested three suspects on 9 April over the case, said Golam Rabbani, chief of Akbar Shah Police Station.
