Hasanath Abdullah, a key coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has criticised the interim government led by Dr Yunus for its inability to dismantle existing syndicates, stating that no significant progress has been made thus far.

In a post made on his personal Facebook account at 2pm on Wednesday (9 October), Hasnat Abdullah expressed his concerns, accusing the government of merely changing the face of the syndicates without addressing the underlying control over the market.

He elaborated that in Karwan Bazar, eggs exchanged hands four times while still on the truck, highlighting the ongoing influence of these syndicates.

"This government has not yet succeeded in breaking any syndicates. All that has changed is the signboard. What is the significance of this uprising if they cannot control commodity prices by dismantling the syndicates?" he questioned in his post.
