In their opening match of the Women’s T20 World Cup, Bangladesh faces Scotland on Thursday (3 October).

Fortune favoured the home side as captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti won the toss and immediately opted to bat.

When asked about her decision, Jyoti explained that the pitch is conducive to batting, with the ball expected to come nicely onto the bat.

"Winning the toss and opting to bat seemed like the right choice here," she added.

Reflecting on their preparations, Jyoti noted the significance of their recent victory in a warm-up match against Pakistan, which has boosted the team's morale.

"Women’s cricket in Bangladesh is progressing rapidly, and our girls are keen to prove themselves here," she remarked.
