A travel ban has been imposed on former MP Abdus Sobhan Golap, ex-deputy governor SK Sur, and his family, along with Rajuk’s chief engineer, following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission during an ongoing investigation

A Dhaka court has issued a travel ban on Abdus Sobhan Mia (Golap), former Member of Parliament from the Awami League, and Sitangshu Kumar Sur (SK Sur) Chowdhury, former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank. The ban also extends to his wife, Suparna Sur Chowdhury, and their daughter, Nandita Sur Chowdhury.

Additionally, a travel restriction has been placed on Rajuk's Chief Engineer, Ujjwal Mallik.

The Senior Special Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan, Mohammad Assams Jaglul Hossain, passed the order on Wednesday (2 October) following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The application was submitted in the course of the ongoing investigation.

ACC's prosecutors Mir Ahmad Ali Salam and Mahmud Hossain Jahangir, presented the petition before the court. After hearing the arguments, the court granted the travel ban request.
