Bangladesh's bowlers produced a stunning display to bundle out India for 376 on the second day of the first Test in Chennai.
After Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja had frustrated the visitors on the opening day, Bangladesh struck early to break the partnership.
The day belonged to Taskin Ahmed, who backed up a wicketless first innings with a three-wicket haul. He began by removing Jadeja, who was dismissed 13 runs short of a century, caught behind off a short delivery. Akshdeep Singh was the next to go, before Taskin trapped the well-set Ashwin lbw with a delivery that straightened.
Hasan Mahmud, who had taken five wickets in the first innings, added the final wicket of the innings by dismissing Jasprit Bumrah. His five-wicket match haul made him the first bowler to take five wickets in an innings in a Test match in India.
Bangladesh's bowlers exploited the conditions to perfection, bowling with discipline and accuracy to keep the Indian batsmen under constant pressure. Their performance has put Bangladesh in a strong position to win the match and take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
