A mild heatwave may sweep across various regions of the country, including the Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, as reported by the Bangladesh Meteorological Office (BMD).

In its 24-hour forecast issued at 6pm on Wednesday (18 September), the weather office stated that mild heatwave conditions are affecting the districts of Tangail, Kishoreganj, and Naogaon, as well as the Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

This heatwave is expected to persist. While daytime temperatures in the southern regions may experience a slight drop, temperatures in the northern areas are likely to remain largely unchanged. Night-time temperatures across the country may rise slightly.

Additionally, the forecast predicts light to moderate rainfall accompanied by gusty winds in many parts of the Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, some areas of the Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions, and isolated places in the Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions.

In some parts of the country, moderately heavy rainfall may also occur.
