Metro rail operations on the Agargaon-Motijheel route in Dhaka were unexpectedly halted on Wednesday (18 September) morning. The suspension occurred midway between Farmgate and Bijoy Sarani, disrupting travel along this segment of the metro line.

Director of Operations and Maintenance at Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, Nasir Uddin Ahmed, informed the media that a major problem had arisen on this section of the route.

He stated, "A significant issue has occurred along the route. It will take some time to resolve. For now, metro services will continue only between Agargaon and Uttara."

In a subsequent announcement, DMTC said that, due to unforeseen circumstances, train services from Agargaon to Motijheel have been temporarily suspended since 9:40am.

However, trains will continue to operate between Uttara North and Agargaon.

The public will be informed once services on the Agargaon-Motijheel route resume.
