Another body has washed ashore at Cox’s Bazar beach, believed to be linked to the disappearance of a fishing trawler in the Bay of Bengal.

The body was discovered early Sunday morning (15 September) at West Kutubdia Para in Ward No. 1 of Samitipara, Cox’s Bazar, said Senior Lifeguard of Sea Safe Lifeguard Mohammad Osman.

"Our lifeguard, Rashid Ahmed, informed us in the early hours that a body had washed up at Samitipara. It is still lying on the beach. I personally went and confirmed the situation," Osman stated.

Lifeguard Rashid Ahmed, also confirming the discovery, said, "Upon hearing of the body, I went to the location at West Kutubdia Para in Samitipara. This is likely the body of someone who perished in the trawler sinking incident."

However, the identity of the deceased has not yet been determined.

Meanwhile, the day before, two bodies were recovered from the Inani coast of Cox’s Bazar, also believed to be from the missing fishing trawler incident. The bodies were found around 2pm on Saturday (14 September) near the Inani Mohammad Shafi Bill beach area.
