Bangladesh Bank Husne Executive Director Ara Shikha has been appointed as the new spokesperson of the central bank - replacing Mezbaul Haque in this key role.
The appointment was made on Thursday (12 September) as part of a broader reshuffle that also saw the nomination of two assistant spokespersons.
Husne Ara Shikha joined Bangladesh Bank as an assistant director in 1996, and her new appointment is seen as a significant step in her distinguished career at the institution.
BB also appointed Mohammad Shahriar Siddiqui, director of the Banking Regulations and Policy Department, and Saeeda Khanom, director of the Department of Communications and Publications, as assistant spokespersons for the central bank.
