Mahbubul Alam, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), has resigned from his position.
It has been reported that he submitted his resignation via email to the Director of Trade Organisations (DTO) at the Ministry of Commerce, said an official on Wednesday (11 September).
Sources have revealed that Mahbubul Alam is currently receiving medical treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, from where he sent his resignation letter.
In accordance with Section 17 of the Trade Organisation Act 2022, Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, a member of the Bangladesh Competition Commission and a retired additional secretary, has been appointed as the administrator of the FBCCI.
