More than thirty years after it was recorded, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's legendary voice returns in a posthumous album "Chain of Light" released by Peter Gabriel's Real World Records on 20 September.

The album comprises four tracks, amounting to a total of 41 minutes, and captures the mesmerising essence of Khan's renowned qawwali performances.

Among the featured tracks, "Ya Allah Ya Rehman" and "Aaj Sik Mitran Di" transport listeners to the high-energy atmosphere of his live concerts, while "Ya Gaus Ya Meeran" further amplifies the spiritual intensity of the album.

The final track, "Khabram Raseed Imshab", exudes a joyful tone, balancing the collection's overall mood.

The album was originally recorded in April 1990 at Real World Studios, with the late qawwali maestro accompanied by his brother Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan on the harmonium, tabla player Dildar Hussain, and a chorus of background vocalists.

Despite Nusrat's passing in 1997, his influence remains deeply felt, with his family continuing to preserve and carry forward his unparalleled musical legacy.

"Chain of Light" stands as a tribute to the timeless brilliance of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, offering listeners a chance to experience his unique, soul-stirring voice once more.
