A total of 49,923 students have passed the medical admission test for the 2023-2024 academic year in public and private medical colleges across the country.
Health Minister Dr. Samanta Lal Sen officially announced the results today (February 11).
The pass rate has been recorded at 47.83%, according to a health ministry press release.
Speaking at a press briefing on the occasion, the health minister said this year's results have been prepared very smoothly. He thanked all concerned for the smooth conduct of this year's examination.
Noting that the passing rate of girls is higher than that of boys in this exam, the health minister said, "The head of our government, Sheikh Hasina, believes in the empowerment of women. She is working toward this end, which has been reflected in the results of the MBBS admission exam."
He added, 'If the head of a country's government is visionary, then economic development or human development is possible. Our Prime Minister is a true visionary leader.'
Tanjim Muntaka Sarba ranks first among the successful candidates, securing 92.5% marks in the exam.
Earlier, on Friday (February 9), the exam was held from 10 am to 11 pm at 44 venues across 19 exam centers nationwide simultaneously.
This time, 144,374 applicants applied for 11,675 seats across 104 medical colleges in the public and private sectors.
There are 5,380 seats in 37 government medical colleges and 6,295 seats in 67 approved private medical colleges.
The admission process for government medical colleges will take place from 18 to 24 February, while a circular containing the admission dates for private medical institutions will be published on 14 February.
