India has extended the 20% duty on the export of parboiled rice beyond 31 March.
The finance ministry of India issued a notification on Wednesday, stating that the export duty will continue beyond March 31st until further notice, reports The Times of India.
Earlier, on 25 August 2023, the neighboring country levied a 20% export duty on parboiled rice for two months, which was later extended to March 31st of this year, to maintain adequate local stock and keep domestic prices under check.
Meanwhile, the country has also extended the duty-free import of yellow peas beyond March 31st, subject to the condition that the bill of landing is issued on or before 30 April 2024.
