There is no uncertainty looming over Bangladesh’s economy as the economic indicators are showing the country is doing well, Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali said.
“There is no uncertainty and nothing to be distressed about the economy,” he said in response to a question from reporters after attending the Deputy Commissioner's Conference in the capital Dhaka on Monday (4 March).
“I told them [DCs] one thing that in the history of Bangladesh, we have reached the highest position today under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. The development indicators are on the rise. Remittances for the month of February were $216 million,” he added.
“All our indicators are going up. So we have no uncertainty, nothing to be distressed about. Propaganda and misinformation are being spread by a group over these,” he added.
The economic crisis looming over the country is fading, the finance minister said, adding, “Now the economic situation is better than before.”
