Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has emphasised the importance of working towards the development and implementation of projects with greater transparency.

"From now on, all project-related information will be made publicly accessible. Not just the Project Director (PD), but everyone will be informed," he stated during the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Wednesday (18 September).

This has been the interim government's first ECNEC meeting following the fall of the Awami League government.

The meeting took place at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon for the first time under the new interim administration.

During the meeting, Dr Yunus stressed the need for careful consideration of projects undertaken with political motives, calling for a departure from mega projects.

"We must work impartially and independently," he urged.

He further added, "In the coming days, large-scale projects will be sidelined in favour of smaller, public-centric initiatives. We must now focus our attention on areas heavily affected by recent floods."

Dr Yunus also mentioned that the advisory committee members unanimously agreed on the necessity of adopting smaller projects in the future.
