The recent incident of door collapse in mid-air of a Boeing flight has created a huge buzz around the world. An Alaska Airlines Boeing Max 9 went through this experience shortly after takeoff from Portland, Oregon, on January 9 (Tuesday).

After this incident, there has been apprehension and doubt in the minds of passengers about how safe it is to fly on Boeing aircraft, especially the Max 9 model.

Another Boeing 787-8 aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in Japan on Saturday (January 13).

The Nippon Airways flight was heading to Toyama Airport in Japan and detected a crack in the cockpit window when it was already in mid-air. The plane with 59 passengers on board made an emergency landing at the airport from where it had just taken off.

Following the incident, US regulators ordered 171 Boeing 737 Max aircraft to be grounded. As a result, hundreds of flights were canceled. And thousands of air passengers suffered.

The incident with Alaska Airlines created panic among the passengers inside the aircraft, however, it returned to the airport and offboarded the passengers safely. The part of the crashed aircraft, weighing 27 kg, was later found in the backyard garden of a Portland teacher's house.

In this circumstance, the head of Boeing admitted their faults and assured to resolve the problem with 100 percent transparency.

Could the assurance of Boeing's chief executive allay all fears? For those who travel regularly by air, the question remains how safe they will feel to travel on the same model of Boeing aircraft again?

Aviation industry experts say the main reason for the Boeing plane's door collapse has not yet been revealed. They are waiting for the revelation of the root causes of such an incident that happened with Boeing Max 9.

After the incident, United Boeing 737 Max 9 said it had found loose screws during an inspection and said those screws needed to be tightly set before the fly to avoid such an incident.

The airline said it would resolve door plug issues with all of its grounded planes before they go for operations again.

United Airlines said in a statement that it began preliminary inspections on Saturday and they found issues related to door plug replacement. The inspection team suggested that the screws of these doors need to be tightened.

In this situation, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national carrier of Bangladesh is a little concerned as it has also experienced such incidents with Boeing Aircrafts.

On February 15, 2022, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft developed a crack in the windshield after landing at Kuala Lumpur Airport in Malaysia. If this incident happened while the aircraft was in the sky, there could have been a major accident.

Earlier, 346 passengers were killed in two separate accidents of Boeing 737 Max aircraft in Indonesia and Ethiopia. In October 2018, an Indonesian Lion Airlines Boeing plane crashed into the Java Sea, killing 189 people on board. And in March 2019, another Boeing of Ethiopian Airlines crashed, killing 157 passengers. Then the Boeing company temporarily stopped the production of the Max model aircraft.
