The two-day annual election of the Dhaka Bar Association to elect the executive committee for the years 2024-2025 commenced today (28th February). Voting began at 9 am and will continue until 4 pm.
There are 48 candidates contesting in the election, representing the ruling Awami League-backed White Panel, the BNP-backed Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Ainjibi Oikkya's Blue Panel, and independents.
A total of 21,137 lawyers who have registered earlier as voters will cast their votes on these days.
Senior Advocate Mukhlesur Rahman Badal is overseeing the election as the chief election commissioner.
