At least two people have been injured following an accident inside the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel built under the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram.
"The accident took place inside the tunnel at around 7pm on Monday (19 February)," Bangabandhu Tunnel Project Assistant Engineer (Toll-Traffic) Tanveer Rifa said.
“A cargo truck heading to Anwara from Chattogram lost control and hit a decoration board inside the tunnel. Immediately, the security personnel of the tunnel seized the truck,” the official added.

Earlier, on 11 February, a car overturned and crashed into the tunnel after losing control.
Later, three other private cars coming from behind rammed into the crashed car.
