Dhaka Metro Rail service has resumed after halting due to a "mechanical fault" on Saturday (17 February) afternoon, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (BMTCL) said.
The metro service resumed from 4:30pm.
Earlier in the afternoon, the automatic door of the metro rail train didn’t open at a station due to a mechanical issue.
"Metro rail movement is stopped due to a mechanical issue," DMTCL Director (Operation and Maintenance) Nasir Uddin Ahmed said.
On 15 February, metro trains were delayed due to issues with the signalling systems.
A day before, on 14 February, metro services were halted. DMTCL officials said a stray kite falling on the power cable caused a hold in metro rail services for about an hour.
