In the face of escalating acts of sabotage on trains, the West Zone of Bangladesh Railway has decided to suspend the operations of 10 trains until Sunday.

“With the security of the railways in mind, nine trains in the west zone will be halted until Sunday, and the Benapole Express train on the Dhaka-Benapole route will remain halted until Monday,” Asim Kumar Talukder, the general manager of Bangladesh Railway (West Zone), conveyed the information through a Facebook post.

The decision comes in the aftermath of a tragic incident when miscreants set fire to a Benapole Express train in the Gopibag area of the capital leaving four people killed on Friday night (5 January).
