Fire at Gazipur factory brought under control

A fire that had erupted at a garment factory in the Sreepur area of Gazipur this evening was brought under control after one and a half hours of effort.

The fire broke out at Globe Gloves (Bangladesh) Manufacturing Limited at around 4 pm and spread to the second and third floors of the building. The factory workers attempted to control the fire. When the severity of the fire increased by that time, the factory authorities informed the fire service 

Upon receiving the information, four fire engines from Sreepur, Rajendrapur, and Joydebpur Fire Service rushed to the spot and managed to douse the fire within one and a half hours, said Abdullah Al Arefin, Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service.

There have been no reports of casualties yet.

The cause behind the fire could not be known immediately.
