Supporters of some candidates are attempting to recruit paid criminals to create chaos ahead of the 12th national polls scheduled for January 7, said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
"A significant number of violent incidents took place across the country recently. We have observed that supporters of a few candidates orchestrated violent activities with the help of some identified criminals. The process is underway to bring them to justice," RAB's Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin revealed during a press conference at RAB's media center in Karwan Bazar of the capital on Thursday (October 4).
Commander Khandaker Al Moin further said, "Within 72 hours, at least 50 individuals, including the upazila chairman of Bagura and a few people's representatives, were detained on charges related to these cases."
