BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi asserted that the massive corruption within the government and money laundering are the main culprits behind the country's recurring economic crises.
"The government has established an autocratic regime, snatching away the rights of the people and perpetuating corruption and robbery under the guise of strange development. Mega corruption is ongoing under the guise of mega projects," he stated during a press conference at the party's central office in Nayapaltan on Sunday.
Referring to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's explanation of price hikes being attributed to the Russia-Ukraine war and Israel's attack on Palestine, Rizvi contested that these wars have not led to commodity price increases in other countries.
He further accused the ruling party members of looting all the banks, and he attributed the soaring prices of all products to the syndicate of ministers and party traders.
Rizvi claimed that members of the Awami League are involved in money laundering from the country.
