Panchagarh Express train derails in Tangail

The accident took place at  Bangabandhu Bridge East Railway Station around 9:00pm on Monday (18 March), said Gharinda Railway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Ali Akbar.

Two coaches of Panchagarh Express derailed in Tangail Bangabandhu Bridge area, snapping railway communications between North Bengal and Dhaka.

The accident took place at  Bangabandhu Bridge East Railway Station around 9:00pm on Monday (18 March), said Gharinda Railway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Ali Akbar.

“On information, we are going to the spot,” he added.

Contacted, Bangabandhu Setu East Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alamgir Ashraf said four wheels of a coach of Dhaka bound Panchagarh Express train derailed due to faulty wheels of the train.
