Army chief calls for unwavering readiness in national service

CChief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has emphasised the need for all members of the Bangladesh Army to remain fully prepared to uphold their supreme duty in service to the nation.

Speaking on Thursday (27 February) morning at the parade ground of Rajshahi Cantonment’s Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Centre, during the induction ceremony as the 7th "Colonel of the Regiment", he underscored the regiment’s unwavering commitment since 1971 and the imperative to further enhance its modernity and capabilities.

With this ceremony, Waqar-Uz-Zaman formally assumed the guardianship of the Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Centre.

Addressing the attendees, he reiterated the necessity of contemporary, battle-ready training to equip the regiment for the challenges of the 21st century.

Senior officials from Army Headquarters and the Bangladesh Infantry Regiment, along with other dignitaries, were present at the event.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the parade ground in Rajshahi Cantonment, the army chief was accorded a formal military salute in accordance with established tradition.

 He was subsequently adorned with the "Colonel Rank Badge", marking his official induction into the role.
