International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Chief Prosecutor Ghulam Arieff Tipoo passed away at a hospital in the capital on Friday (15 March) morning.
He breathed his last around 8am while undergoing treatment at Labaid Hospital, prosecutor Mokhlesur Rahman Badal told media.
Born on 28 August, 1931, in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district,Ghulam Arieff Tipoo completed his secondary in 1948 at Kaliachar school and higher secondary in 1950 at Rajshahi College.
After completing graduation from the Rajshahi College in law, he came to Dhaka and completed his post graduation in law from Dhaka University.
He was honoured with the Ekushey Padak in 2019 for his role in the Language Movement.
