A Bangladesh Bank Additional Director (AD) lost her life after being struck on the head by a brick that fell from a roadside building in the Mowchak area of Dhaka.
The victim, Dipu Sana (37), alighted from a bus at Shantinagar around 7 am on Wednesday (10January), after concluding her duties at the Sadarghat Branch of Bangladesh Bank. While walking beneath the Mowchak flyover en route to her home in Mogbazar, near the Mowchak Market, tragedy struck as a brick from a nearby building hit her head, resulting in her immediate demise.
"There is an under-construction building near the accident area. However, we have yet to confirm from where the brick fell. The investigation is ongoing," said Ramna Police Station Officer-in-charge (OC) Utpal Barua.
Dipu Sana is survived by her husband, Tarun Bishwas, and their child.
