The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called a meeting to decide the plan of action to rescue the Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah and the 23 sailors who were captured by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean
A letter signed by Senior Assistant Secretary (Africa) Iftekhar Rahman made the information public.
According to the letter, the meeting is scheduled to be held at 11 am on Thursday (14 March) at the conference room of the ministry. The meeting will be presided over by the Acting Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Rear Admiral (retired) Md Khurshid Alam.
Authorities of concerned ministries, departments and agencies have been requested to attend the meeting on time.
On 12 March, MV Abdullah was hijacked by pirates on its way to Dubai, United Arab Emirates with coal from the African country of Mozambique.
