Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain yesterday (10 March) said that the incumbent government will provide job opportunities to about 20 lakh youths every year.
"Awami League's election manifesto in the 12th National Parliament election mentioned that employment will be ensured. For that purpose, the current government will provide employment to about 20 lakh youths every year," he said.
The minister said this while he was speaking at the programme of distributing laptops among women trainees under the 'Her Power' project as chief guest.
Due to the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's ICT Affairs Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Bangladesh has become Digital Bangladesh, he said, adding that Smart Bangladesh will be built very quickly.
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak presided over the laptop-distribution programme.
'Her Power Project': Empowerment of Women through ICT Frontier Initiative' was organized by Meherpur District Administration and the Department of ICT at Mujibnagar Smrity Complex Auditorium in the district.
