iDEA project portfolio startup “Skoot Limited” under Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) of ICT Division has started its activities to kick off its operation in Rangpur. In light of this, startup 'Skoot Limited' and Skoot Rangpur Wing have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a franchise to provide e-bike share services in Rangpur.
The signing took place on the afternoon of Sunday (10 March) at ICT Tower in Dhaka, reads a press release.
The MoU was signed by the Managing Director of Skoot Limited Kazi Ridwan Ahmed and Skoot Rangpur Franchise Owner Zenith Lincon Mazumdar.
From iDEA Project, Shohag Chandra Das, Consultant and Lead on Communications, Consultant of Lab Operation Abul Kalam Ehsanul Kalam Azad, and Consultant of IT Service and Support Md. Momenul Islam were present on this occasion among others.
According the MoU, Skoot authorities will officially start the journey from the following April 2024 in Rangpur.
Startup SKOOT is a unique service funded by the iDEA of ICT Division which is playing a role in creating Smart Bangladesh. Skoot is expanding its operations to make every day commuting more affordable, easier, and safer. At present, after Khulna, Rajshahi and Sylhet, Skoot Limited has successfully launched its operations in Bogra recently.
To enrich the startup culture in Bangladesh, under the guidance and advice of the state minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Academy (iDEA) project under the Bangladesh Computer Council of the ICT Division of the government is working relentlessly, added the press release.
Apart from providing grants for the development of startups, this project is also providing support to entrepreneurs in different ways including co-working space, business advice, and fab lab facilities. Among these funded startups, several startups are doing well, one of which is "Skoot Ltd.".
