The Baloch Human Rights Council (BHRC), an organisation dedicated to advocating for Baloch rights, has unveiled a series of activities planned for the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva.

BHRC's Information Secretary Khurshid Ahmed said in a press release, "BHRC will host and participate in various events aimed at shedding light on the dire situation in Balochistan, where Pakistani security agencies continue to commit severe human rights violations with impunity. Over the past six months, the number of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings has surged."

These events, organised by BHRC, will take place from 11 to 15 March this year, reports Asian News International.

As per BHRC's schedule, the organisation will stage a demonstration at the Broken Chair monument on March 12 from 11 am to 2 pm.

On 13 March 2024, BHRC plans to join a protest demonstration organised by the World Sindhi Congress at the Broken Chair.

Moreover, BHRC's executive president will speak at a side event in the UN, hosted by Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD) on 14 March.

BHRC will collaborate with GHRD and the World Sindhi Congress to hold a photo and poster exhibition on March 15 at the Broken Chair.

Additionally, BHRC activists will participate in a protest demonstration organized by BNM.

On 12 March, a delegation from BHRC will submit a memorandum to Volker Turk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

The press statement also noted that on March 20, BHRC's General Secretary, Qambar Malik, will intervene during the discussion on Item 4 of the General Debate.

Furthermore, on 27 March, BHRC will host a side event at the UN building at 5 pm.
