The Fine Arts Faculty of Dhaka University and Platforms have recognised three women with awards for Outstanding Women Artists in a variety of categories in observance of International Women' Day.
The winners include Ahsana Nasreen Angona, Anuradha Dhebi, and Rumana Rahman.
Some 300 participants were employed, as stated by the organisers, to determine the winners.
Friday (8 March) evening, cash prizes were awarded to the winners of the "Empower Her: Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress" event.
UN Women Bangladesh provided support and ISHO provided the event's power.
Among others, State Minister of Cultural Affairs Naheed Ezhar Khan and Prof. Sadeka Halim, vice-chancellor of Jagannath University, were present at the programme.
