The polls to Mymensingh and Cumilla City Corporations will begin Saturday (9 March) morning to pick their mayors and councillors.
This is the first city elections just two months after the Awami League formed a new government.
The polling will begin at 8am and will continue till 4 pm without any break.
The ruling party is not officially participating in the elections while the BNP boycotted the polls.
However, four leaders of ruling Awami League are running for mayoral post in Mymensingh and two leaders in Cumilla as independents. On the other hand, two expelled leaders of BNP are vying for the post of mayor in Cumilla.
The polls will be held using Electronic Voting Machines.
