3 fire incidents in one night in Chittagong

Fire incidents that broke out in three separate places in the port city of Chittagong on Thursday (7 March) night have been doused.

In Chittagong city, there was a fire in two abandoned carriages of the freight train and a pile of garbage.

A fire broke out in two coaches kept at the SRB railway station of Sadarghat police station shortly before 11 pm on Thursday (March 7). Half an hour later, a fire originated in garbage dump in the CDA area of Agrabad in the city.

Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence of Chittagong Region Abdur Razzak confirmed the fire incidents around 12:15am.

He said that fire was reported in two abandoned railway carriages at Barek Building Junction. On information, two fire fighting units were sent to the spot and they brought the blaze under control. On the other hand, two units of firemen of Agrabad moved to the spot after receiving information about the fire in the garbage heap.

The reasons of fire occurrences could not be known immediately, he added.

Earlier, a fire broke out at the Max Construction site adjacent to Jamiatul Falah Mosque in Wasa area of the city at 8pm on Thursday (7 March). Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defence Assistant Director MD Abdul Malek said on information, two fire service units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze.
