A 17-kilometre tailback has been created on the Dhaka-Tangail highway since early Wednesday (6 March) due to the extra pressure of vehicular movement and the construction work of four-lane.

Hundreds of vehicles remain stuck in the tailback stretching from East Part of Bangabandhu Bridge of Tangail to Rasulpur, said Elenga highway police outpost in-charge Mir Md Sajedur Rahman.

Thousands of passengers have been suffering from the tailback, he said, adding that Elenga Highway Police, Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station and Bangabandhu Bridge Authority are working to clear the traffic jam.
