The Bangladesh Bank has revised banking hours during the month of Ramadan.
Bank transactions will run from 9:30am to 2:30pm and the office will run from 9:30am to 4pm during the month of Ramadan, the central bank said in a notification on Tuesday (5 March).
According to the notification, all scheduled banks in the country will be open from 9:30am to 4:00pm during the holy month of Ramadan. In between, there will be a break for Zohar prayer from 1:15pm to 1:30pm.
However, during this break, the bank's transactions can be continued through internal coordination, according to the notification.
Bank transactions usually take place from 10am to 4pm and official functions of the bank run from 10am to 6pm.
The notification also informed that the office schedule will return to the previous timing after the end of Ramadan.
