The chairman of Philipnagar Union Council in Kushtia, Naim Sentu, was shot dead by unidentified assailants.
Assailants entered the union council office in the Doulatpur Upazila and opened fire during the wee hours of Monday (30 September), said Doulatpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman.
"The gunmen entered the premises and carried out the fatal attack. Investigations are currently underway to apprehend the perpetrators and ascertain the motive behind this brazen act of violence," he added.
